EVA foam insert: when to use it?
EVA foam inserts are widely used in LED bulb packaging, camera packaging, phone packaging, glass packaging, as well as in some digital device gift boxes. There are three main benefits to using it:

- Adding a matte and smooth surface to your packaging will make it seem more impressive and luxurious.

What is EVA foam?
EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) is a firm, closed-cell foam. It absorbs shock, does not soak up water, and holds a clean cut edge, which is why it is used to hold cameras, electronics, glassware, jewellery and gift sets in place.
How is the insert shaped to my product?
The foam is cut with cavities that follow the outline of each item, so every piece sits in its own pocket. Send us the exact dimensions of each item — or a drawing of the layout you want — and we will prepare the insert design for your approval.
Can the foam be covered?
Yes. Inserts can be finished with a covering such as a velvet-style flocked surface, printed paper or a plastic film, depending on the look you want and how the product will be handled.
Which boxes are EVA inserts used with?
They are most often paired with rigid two-piece boxes and magnetic flap boxes, but they also work inside mailer boxes for shipping fragile items. Quote the box and the insert together so the two are designed to fit each other.
EVA foam or a card insert?
EVA gives the most protection and the most premium feel. Die-cut card inserts are lighter, fully printable and paper-based; other foam inserts sit in between. Tell us what the product is and how it ships, and we will recommend one.
